It is a short stroll to all town centre amenities including shops, restaurants and of course the world famous golf courses. It is also nearby to both the historic Cathedral and the Castle, the harbour, beaches and university buildings. It provides comfortable accommodation for 6 people.
There is nowhere quite like St Andrews. It has world renowned golf courses, miles and miles of sandy beaches, fabulous coastal walks, world class restaurants and the history of being an esteemed University town. There is something for everybody here.
For golfers there are more than 20 courses within a 20 mile radius of the house and many of these courses apart from the St Andrews Links Trust courses are championship courses in their own right the Dukes, Kingsbarns, Lundin Links and Ladybank to mention but a few.
The history of the Town is remarkable dating as far back as Queen Margaret escaping across the River Forth from the forces of William the Conqueror in 1071. The Consecration of the Cathedral in 1318 in the presence of King Robert the Bruce who rode his horse up the central isle was indeed remarkable! This University town is steeped in history and is a place of pilgrimage for many. There is a diverse array of festivals, cultural activities, with fine museums to be visited.
There are also many things to do in the Town. The Byre Theatre, established in 1933 promotes excellent shows throughout the year and the variety and range of restaurants are exceptional with the array of boutique shopping quite fabulous. St Andrews is a very special place.
St Andrews is renowned world wide as the ‘Home of Golf’. The Old Course is a regular host to the Open Championship which was last held there in July 2015. The Open will return in 2021 when we will see the 150th playing of this historic tournament. Be sure to book your accommodation early. There are now six further golf courses run by the St Andrews Links Trust, including the Castle Course opened in 2009. There are many other golf courses in the area including the Duke’s Course, two courses at Fairmount, St Andrews Bay and Kingsbarns.
St Andrews is also well known for its university which is one of the oldest in Britain, founded in 1410. The town has a good range of shops, hotels, restaurants and recreational and cultural facilities. Beyond St Andrews is the East Neuk of Fife, with a spectacular coastline which boasts fishing villages built around picturesque harbours and sandy unspoilt beaches.
Access by rail, road and air is good.

Edinburgh Airport, with its increasingly wide range of domestic and international flights, is less than 50 miles away and Dundee Airport (15 miles) has regular services to London Stansted. There is a dual carriageway and motorway connection to Edinburgh from Kirkcaldy (20 miles). An alternative route is via Cupar on the A91 to join the M90 at Junction 8 (25 miles)
Greyfriars Gardens lies in the centre of St Andrews between North Street and Market Street. The street consists of a range of terraced homes which overlook gardens to the west.
Within walking distance are the ancient ruins of the 13th century Castle and 12th century Cathedral. There are miles of golden sandy beaches. Just outside your door are a great selection of shops, restaurants and bars. An independent cinema is just around the corner. Also in St Andrews there are art galleries, museums, and not forgetting the 3rd oldest university in the world.The location of this apartment will appeal to golfers with the world famous Old Course just a 5 minute walk from the apartment. For those wishing to golf you will be spoiled for choice with around 50 golf courses spread throughout the Kingdom of Fife.
A small stone staircase leads up to the front door of 15 Greyfriars Gardens which gives access to the shared hallway. The front door to the apartment is immediately on the left and a staircase from here with decorative wrought iron balustrades and wooden banisters curve up to the landings above. Half way up the stairs a split in the staircase leads to the newly fitted modern kitchen.
The staircase continues up the first floor where there is a fabulous living room and a master bedroom with en-suite shower room. The living room has wonderful large windows providing ample natural light, working shutters and leafy views over Greyfriars Gardens. It is a great room in which to relax after a busy day in and around St Andrews.
The master bedroom benefits from a generous en-suite shower room. The bedroom can be set up as either a twin or king sized double.
The staircase continues to the second floor where there are a further two twin or super king bedrooms, one with a large dormer window overlooking Greyfriars Gardens and the other with views over St. Andrews to the rear.
The accommodation is completed by a family bathroom with WC, wash hand basin, bath and shower cubicle.
No 15 has been refurbished to a high standard and is a really lovely town centre apartment.

Please be aware that the annual Lamas Street Market will be in operation in St Andrews from the 9th August 2019 until 14th August 2019 which will affect the apartment. It runs from Friday to Tuesday evening in the neighbouring streets of Market Street and South Street. These streets will be very busy and noise can travel from the market to the apartment. On street car parking and access will be limited at this time.
