St Monans is one of the most attractive of the fishing villages in the picturesque East Neuk of Fife. Explore the quaint village with its seafaring history. Only a short distance (7 miles) from historic St Andrews it is a perfect venue from which to explore the delights of the East Neuk of Fife. The neighbouring villages of Crail, Anstruther and Pittenweem are all worth a visit and each has its own unique character.
St Monans has a busy working harbour where boats land some of Scotland’s finest seafood much of which can be sampled in the excellent local restaurants.
There are lovely coastal walks, pleasant local golf courses to play, while from Elie (4m) you can hire bikes and boats or take a trip to view the fascinating and vibrant seabird colonies of the May Isle. St Monans is only 20 minutes from St Andrews and all that it has to offer. The historic castle and cathedral, Scotland’s oldest university, a host of independent shops and some of the area’s best beaches.
Just outside St Andrews, there is Craigtoun Park with boating, trampolines, miniature railway, crazy golf etc. There are pubs, restaurants and shops in the village of St Monans so if you just want the quiet life with conveniences close by this is the place for you or it can be a perfect base to explore Scotland.
