Sleeps 6 - This stunning terraced house in the harbour town of St Monans, right on the coast of the East Neuk of Fife, has unrivalled sea views. The open plan of the house means that there are few rooms from which you don't get a fabulous prospect of the sea beyond - and on special days even a glimpse of the dolphins that make the North Sea their home. The property has been recently refurbished to a high standard and is immaculately presented throughout. Arranged over two floors, the property has 3 double bedrooms (one of which can be made up as a twin if required) and offers the perfect seaside escape for families or groups of friends.
The East Neuk village of St Monans is a small fishing village, steeped in history, which used to have Millers boat yard which built fairly substantial fishing boats. The harbour is very picturesque and as a relic of the past are the saltpans which in yesteryears were an active part of the local economy. It contains all the facilities you could hope for in a small village: there are 2 general stores, a Post Office, cafe and the Blue Pier smokehouse and fish merchants.
There is a very famous restaurant in the village “The Seafood Restaurant” which also owns the Seafood Restaurant in St Andrews. The village is also fortunate to have an excellent restaurant at the Mayview Hotel.
St Monans is very centrally placed being 20 minutes from St Andrews, under 10 minutes from Anstruther which has an excellent 9-hole golf course not to mention a superb restaurant called “Rockies” at the club. Elie and Earlsferry and its beautiful golf course and the Elie Sports Club with tennis and bowls and a 9-hole golf course are also about 10 minutes away.
The village and the house has superb views across the Firth of the Forth to the Isle of May and the Bass Rock. Dundee and St Andrews offer a more comprehensive choice of shops and restaurants and are just a short drive away.
Pittenweem to the north of St Monans is host to one of Scotland's most famous art festivals in August with a stunning fireworks display to open the festival.
Seascape is a wonderful terraced property, situated towards the east end of the town. Its location right on the coast means it is lucky enough to boast unspoilt views of the Firth of Forth and the North Sea beyond. On sunny summer days, this is a particularly spectacular feature and sometimes it is even possible to see dolphins in the water when they stray towards the shores. The house itself has been newly furbished and is in immaculate condition throughout. Its open-plan design has been carefully considered to afford the best views of the sea from all the ground floor reception areas. On the upper level, there are similarly unrivalled views from the upstairs bedroom. It also features an enclosed garden to the front and back where you can sit out and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Ample roadside parking is available and the centre of the town, with its amenities and restaurants, is within easy walking distance. Seascape is also a perfect base from which to explore the other picturesque towns of the East Neuk, with Pittenweem and Elie within 10 minutes drive in either direction. And the historic university town of St Andrews, with its cultural and sporting attractions, is a 20 minute drive away and there are bus links from St Monans around the coast. The accommodation is arranged over two levels with two of the bedrooms on the ground floor and the other on the floor above. It is perfect for families or groups of friends in search of a relaxing coastal holiday but with plenty of things to do and see within close reach. A lovely new bathroom has been fitted downstairs for 2016.
