There is nowhere quite like St Andrews, with its world-renowned golf courses, miles and miles of sandy beaches, fabulous coastal walks, world-class restaurants and the history of being an esteemed University town. There is something for everybody here.
There are about 30 golf courses within 15 miles. The restaurants in the town are numerous and of excellent quality. Similarly excellent quality is to be found amongst the local shops, with a range of independent boutiques and artisan traders selling unique labels and fresh local produce from St Andrews and the surrounding area. There are music and art festivals held locally during the year.
St Andrews holds a special place in Scotland's history. It takes its name from the Apostle whose relics, legend tells us, were brought to this place in antiquity by St Rule. Scotland later adopted St Andrew as her patron saint and took his saltire cross for her flag. Before the Reformation, the town was the centre of religious life in medieval Scotland, with the bishops wielding great influence over both church and state. St Andrews is also famous as a place of learning; the university, founded in 1410-11, is the third oldest in Britain.
For many visitors, though, it's a game that draws them here, for St Andrews is the home of golf, the sport having been played here for some 600 years. The Old Course is arguably the most famous golf course in the world, and the Royal and Ancient Golf Club is still the ruling body for the rules of golf. Fittingly, the Old Course hosted the Open during the millennium year and did so again in 2005, 2010 and 2015. Coming again in July 2021.
There are 7 fabulous golf courses within the town and many Championship Links courses in neighbouring villages.
St Andrews is a town designed for exploring. The medieval layout of the town centre remains intact, with the main shopping areas concentrated in Market Street and South Street, with Bell Street and Church Street connecting the two principal streets. Take time to explore – on foot – and take pleasure at the surprises and delights you will find.
There are some ancient historic buildings to explore the Castle and Cathedral are must-sees, museums including the British Golf Museum, as well as the stunning beaches with all they have to offer and the pier - spectacular for a walk at sunset.

Beach View has to be seen to be truly appreciated. It sits overlooking the working part of St Andrews harbour where a small fleet of inshore boats land their daily catch of lobsters and crabs. The first floor main living area overlooks the harbour, the historic pier and out into St Andrews Bay which is an ever changing view - all of this can be enjoyed from a balcony accessed beyond the patio doors of the living room.

The house has been tastefully renovated to an extremely high standard and is a luxurious and beautifully equipped base for any number of different holiday types. You are no more than 10 minutes walk from the centre of St Andrews with all that it has to offer and equally you can be on the first tee of the Old Course in 10 minutes walking along the coastal path past St Andrews Castle. The East Sands beach is one minute from the house.

The house has a ground floor garage with electric door accessed off the harbour side which provides secure parking and there is further parking available on the street.

Access is either from Shorehead which brings you in at first floor level or through the ground floor garage. On entering off Shorehead there is a small hall with a WC cloakroom and stairs down to the garage and up to the bedrooms.

Beyond the hall is the open plan living/dining/kitchen area. This is a gorgeous room dominated by full height sliding glazed doors leading to the balcony overlooking the harbour. There is ample seating for six on comfortable sofas, a dining table for 6 and a well equipped kitchen area. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, induction hob, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher and fridge. There are laundry facilities (washing machine and tumble dryer) and an additional fridge/freezer in the ground floor garage. The living area has a large TV with satellite channels as well as a DVD player and music centre.

On the two upper floors there are three twin bedrooms. All of the rooms have the advantage of having their own en-suite shower and toilet facilities. The top floor suite also has a small balcony/viewing platform overlooking the harbour. Each of the bedrooms has generous storage and hanging facilities.
