Sleeps 4 - New for 2016 Water Wynd is a beautiful, newly refurbished two bedroomed apartment situated in the heart of Pittenweem offering stylish accommodation for up to 4 people. The property is situated on the ground floor but as it sits on a hill above the harbour it has lovely views from the living area. It makes an excellent base from which to explore the marvellous East Neuk of Fife. The owners have been meticulous in their renovation of the apartment and it has all of the facilities you might need. The property benefits from one private parking space. Water Wynd sits under another of our properties, Ard na Mara, and if taken together they could accommodate up to 8 people.

Tucked into a corner of the east coast of Scotland between St Andrews and Edinburgh, the East Neuk of Fife is one of Scotland's most beautiful regions. It has a character all its own, attracting artists by the thousands to its unique combination of history, sea, farmland and beaches, its picturesque fishing villages with their Dutch-style houses and its world famous golf courses. There is so much to do here for the whole family, from kayaking to horseriding, and yet there is great peace here too. In the summer, flowers line the hedgerows and the fields are rich with crops while fishing boats bob in the sea. It's a perfect place to relax, to eat well, and to recharge the batteries. Eight coastal villages comprise the East Neuk - each with its own special character.

Pittenweem - its name is Gaelic for 'place of the cave' - is a working fishing port, its busy harbour being the main landing point for the daily catch. It is a small village of some 1500 inhabitants, with a history not just of fishing and trading but of art too. In August over 100 artists exhibit at the annual Pittenweem Arts Festival and over 30 artists make their permanent home here. The village is blissfully situated, white houses with red pantiled roofs tumbling down to harbour and spreading up and beyond to the fields above. It is situated between Anstruther with its bustling harbour, the Fisheries Museum, supermarkets, various shops and renowned restaurants and the quieter village of St Monans, home to an excellent fish restaurant.

Pittenweem is a very well stocked village with a butchers, bakers, chemists, hairdresser, fish and chips shop (many think it's the best on the coast), a few pubs, the wonderful Cocoa Tree chocolate and teashop, the Heron bistro on the High Street, and the new Pittenweem Inn on the outskirts. This is a haven for art lovers, for foodies, and for those who simply want to enjoy the unique atmosphere of an historic village - you can still visit the cave that once housed a hermit and gave the village its name. This area is particularly attractive to golfers of course - there are some wonderful courses within half an hour: Anstruther (1 miles away, its club house provides an excellent lunch), Balcomie Links at Crail, Elie, Balbirnie Park, Kingsbarns, Scotscraig, Charleton, Lundin Links, Carnoustie where the 2007 Open took place and of course there is St Andrews just 15 minutes away and its historic courses.

Water Wynd is a newly refurbished for 2016 modern 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom ground floor apartment with beautiful harbour views. The property has 2 bedrooms and a modern bathroom. There is gas central heating and solid oak flooring in the public areas.
The entrance hall has ample storage for walking boots, golf clubs, cases etc. There is space for a bicycle or a buggy. Additional storage is available in the cellar area.
Open Plan Living Area - The main open plan living space in the apartment is divided into three areas. The seating area is equipped with comfortable modern furniture, there is a dining area with a table and chairs for four and finally a fabulous modern kitchen area with all new appliances including fridge, electric oven and gas hob, microwave and dishwasher.. The whole space enjoys wonderful views over the harbour and out to sea. This is a great place to simply relax over a drink and all your needs are catered for with Freeview TV, DVD and wireless speakers.
Utility Space - The cellar area under the apartment, accessed from outside, has been used to house the washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer.
Bathroom - As part of the renovation a fabulous modern bathroom has been installed. The fully tiled space has a bath, separate shower, WC and wash hand basin.
Bedrooms - There are two bedrooms with double beds and are comfortably furnished and overlook the side of the property.
